RestorationHQ (RHQ) played a crucial role in restoring a government building that had experienced significant water damage due to a ruptured supply line. The RHQ team faced multiple challenges throughout the restoration process and demonstrated their expertise in overcoming these obstacles to deliver exceptional results.

Upon arrival, the team immediately took steps to stabilize the building and prevent further damage. They strategically divided their workforce into specialized teams to ensure maximum efficiency during the restoration process. One team worked to remove standing water while a second team set up drying equipment to immediately stabilize the building and reduce likelihood of secondary damage. A third team began the documentation process that included photographs, structural moisture readings, atmospheric readings, and moisture mapping of all affected areas.

The RHQ project manager worked closely with the client to develop a plan of action and once approved, RHQ crews began executing that plan. As part of their commitment to compliance, RHQ adhered to all relevant regulations regarding asbestos testing. The team also carried out minimal demolition work, which not only reduced the repair timeline but also saved costs for the client. RHQ crews began demolition work which included removal of the cove base and drilling small ventilation holes at the bottom of the wall. Minimal demolition allowed for the building to avoid lengthy repair timelines as well as increased cost while not sacrificing the drying time. Ventilation holes create a faster rate of evaporation which results in faster repair times.

One of the challenges faced by RHQ was dealing with furniture that could not be disassembled. To overcome this obstacle, the team utilized specialized drying equipment to expedite the drying process without causing any damage to the furnishings. RHQ deployed specialty drying equipment allowing for air delivery to areas that were not easily accessible. Because of the knowledge and expertise of the team, the building was quickly dried and re-occupied with minimal downtime.

All work was performed with the utmost care for human health and considered the financial burden of the project. HEPA Filter equipped equipment was used during demolition and drying to ensure employee belongings were not contaminated. Despite the complexity of the project and the holiday season, RHQ’s expertise ensured that the building was dried, re-occupied, and turned over to the client without any delays. This case study highlights RHQ’s dedication to providing top-quality restoration services and their ability to tackle even the most challenging projects with skill and professionalism.
